Earth to Heaven

By on Tuesday 22nd November, 2011

Is there such a place called heaven?
And if so what on earth would you do?
Sittin’ up there a-bobbin’ like a lemon
Watching fluffy clouds float through…

You’d be bored of fun,
Bored of time
You’d be so god-damn bored
Of endless pleasure
That you’d uh
Just a-want to whine!

So I’ll stick to a place called earth
Where every now and then people cry
There’s love, laughter, death and birth
But you can make it if you try

Now, is there such a hole called hell?
And if so what on earth have you done?
To end up under Satan’s spell
Unforgiven by anyone

You’ll be burned to bits,
Burned to a crisp
You’d be so damn-well done
That when judgement comes
You’ll have missed out on
All the fun!

So I’ll stick to a place called earth
Where every now and then people cry
There’s love, laughter, death and birth
But you can make it if you try

So I guess what I’m trying to say
Is there ain’t no such place
There’s no way on earth
To tell right from wrong
To tell an altar from a bomb

So I’ll just say “hello” to my neighbour
Do to others as I’d have done to me
Treat everyone as my brother and sister
Have some faith in humanity
