Rise and Fall

By on Tuesday 22nd November, 2011

I’m flying through the air
I do not have a care, at all
I’m waiting for the day
That someone else will fly my way

I merely want to talk
About our weary world, and all
We’ll float amongst the stars
While countless mortals die and are born

I’ve watched you play your games
Like ‘power’ ‘fortune’ ‘fame’, too long
I tell you it’s a shame
For I swear I saw some hope at dawn

I smell the fires of change
In this economic age, war torn
I’ll sit back t’you’re demise
While numbers rule the skies, forlorn

I’m flying through the air
I could not have a care, at all
I’m waiting for the day
That someone else can fly away

I merely want to talk
About our weary world, and all
We’ll make the clouds our home
While futile empires rise and fall
